Present at the meeting were members and alternate members of the Central Committee of the GFTUK.

Attending it in observer's capacity were officials of the Central Committee of the GFTUK and its provincial, city and county committees.

It discussed the issue of thoroughly carrying out the important tasks set forth in the letter "Let the Trade Unions Become Advance Units That Open Up a New Era of Upsurge in Socialist Construction in the Vanguard" sent by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un to the participants in the 8th Congress of the GFTUK.

Pak In Chol, chairman of the C.C., GFTUK, made a report.

He said that the historic letter sent by the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un serves as the important guidelines for the trade unions to creditably fulfill their mission and duty as organizations of ideological education training the workers and their members to be vanguard fighters and as advance units actively propelling the revolutionary advance in the new times.

He proposed measures for developing the trade union organizations into powerful political organizations remaining true to the idea and leadership of the Party and into a powerful force for socialist construction by bringing about a radical turn in the trade union work, as required by the times and developing revolution.

He called for fully demonstrating the revolutionary spirit and the might of unity of the working class firmly united around the Workers' Party of Korea and accelerating the all-people grand march towards a fresh victory in socialist construction by thoroughly implementing the important tasks set forth in the historic letter sent by the respected General Secretary.

Speeches were made at the meeting.

The speakers expressed their will to add luster to the honor of being the "eldest sons" of the country and advance unit by making a substantial leap forward and innovations in every working site for a great upswing to fulfill the five-year plan, emulating the fighting spirit and traits displayed by the working class during the periods of post-war rehabilitation and the great Chollima upswing.

After studying a draft resolution, the meeting adopted a relevant resolution.
