Pyongyang, July 14 (KCNA) -- True to the idea and spirit of the 3rd Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the officials and workers in the metal and chemical industries are redoubling their efforts to make a decisive breakthrough in putting the industries on a Juche basis. Those in the metal industry, with a sense of responsibility for guaranteeing the self-supporting economy for 50 or 100 years by putting the industry on a Juche basis, are waging an intensive struggle to technically perfect the Juche-based iron-making system, enlarge its capacity and boost the iron and steel production. The Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex concentrates on strengthening its material and technical foundations, increasing the oxygen production capacity. The Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex pushes forward with the work for making the energy-saving oxygen heat blast furnace and other projects for strengthening the production foundations. The Chollima Steel Complex also directs efforts to putting production on a Juche basis by installing a continuous casting machine and ladle refining furnace. The Musan Mining Complex, Jaeryong Mine, etc. put efforts into laying the foundations for future production and increasing the present production. Officials and workers in the chemical industry also strive to bring about substantial changes and development-oriented results. Those of the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex work hard to finish the project for increasing the production capacity ahead of schedule. The Namhung Youth Chemical Complex also pushes forward the project for increasing the production capacity while directing great efforts to realizing the home-production of catalysts and strengthening its own technical forces. A campaign for consolidating the foundations for boosting production is brisk at the February 8 Vinalon Complex. |
