The contest was attended by over ten tangogi restaurants under the Guidance Bureau of Public Catering Service and the Management Bureau of Public Catering Service of the Pyongyang City People's Committee.

In the contest, cooks from the restaurants prepared tangogi soup and other tangogi dishes with a new recipe presented by the Central Committee of the Korean Association of Cooks and with their own culinary skills. Then, officials and researchers concerned appraised those dishes.

Most of the contestants were praised for their good culinary skills.

The participants exchanged their skills and experience in cooking national dishes.
