The province has paid special attention to the project for reinforcing sea dykes against the damage by tidal wave as several cities and counties in the province are sea-bound with long coastline.

Concentrating provincial efforts on the areas like Haeju City and Thaethan County with many dangerous spots and huge projects to be done, the province urges every unit in charge of reinforcement projects to fully ensure the safety of dykes by piling up more earth and reinforcing stone embankments.

In Chongdan County, a project for repairing dykes and stone embankment extending several kilometers in total was completed in a short period.

Other counties have also tapped all manpower and means to strengthen dangerous spots, regarding it as an important matter directly lined with the safety of the people and this year's farming to prevent the damage by tidal wave.
