The South Hwanghae provincial commission of science and technology has introduced the program for supporting the rice-cultivation process into the agricultural production in different areas, thus laying foundations for increased grain production. It also transformed hundreds of asynchronous motors into the power-saving ones and introduced over 240 AC contactors and current-stabilizing welding machines into a lot of units in the first half of the year.

It trains the technicians and skilled workers, who were found as a result of its efforts for scouting for talents, to be a sci-tech force that can contribute to the development of the local economy.

The Jagang provincial commission of science and technology enhanced the efficiency of the already-developed disinfectant for silkworm, developed the technology for ensuring constant safety of its use and introduced a new bio-growth stimulant, thus putting the cultivation of mulberry fields and the production of cocoons on a sci-tech basis.

The North Hwanghae provincial commission of science and technology applied the micronutrient fertilizer, whose efficiency was proved last year, to thousands of hectares of paddy and dry fields, thus providing a guarantee for bringing about a bumper harvest while saving chemical fertilizer.

The South Hamgyong provincial commission of science and technology organized research groups with talented scientists and technicians of scientific and research institutions and educational units. They were sent to major industrial establishments in the province to do their bit in resolving sci-tech problems arising in updating of the production lines and ensuring their normal operation. The commission pushes forward with the work for accelerating the economic development and the improvement of the people's living standard by dint of science and technology in a purposeful way.
