DPRK RCS's Activities for 2021-2030 Strategy
Pyongyang, August 6 (KCNA) -- The DPRK Red Cross Society (RCS) launched its activities for implementing the 2021-2030 strategy.

According to Ri Un Hye, department head of the RCS, the strategy's general objective is to strengthen the overall capacity of the RCS and contribute to making the communities have ability to cope with natural disasters caused by climate change and health and other crises and self-develop.

During the strategy implementation, the RCS will effectively cope with such natural disasters by climate change as flood, typhoon and tidal wave as well as epidemics like COVID-19 and carry out in 300 residential districts the overall development plan with disaster risk reduction, WASH and public health and first aid as its main contents. For its development, the Society will also push ahead in a sustained way with the work to reinforce its branches and expand the ranks of its members and volunteers.

The RCS set it as a way for implementing the strategy to qualitatively strengthen its headquarters and branches at all levels, scientifically and technically ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of RC services and put all its activities on a digital and IT basis.

The 2021-2030 strategy is to be implemented in two phases.

At present, such works go on as informing the residents of disastrous natural phenomena and their origin and the rules of conduct to be observed when disasters occurred, preserving the biodiversity and reducing the disaster risks and increasing the ranks of RCS members and volunteers and encouraging the activities of young RC volunteers.
