Scientists Focus on Solving Urgent Sci-tech Problems in DPRK

Pyongyang, August 6 (KCNA) -- Officials and scientists of the State Academy of Sciences of the DPRK direct their efforts to making a breakthrough in revitalizing the economy by dint of science and technology, true to the intention of the Party that set the metal and chemical industries as the main link in the chain efforts for the economic development.

The Ferrous Metal Research Institute focuses their research on resolving the sci-tech problems in putting the iron and steel production processes on a higher Juche basis.

The Nonferrous Metal Institute puts efforts into inventing a new alloy. Through joint and cooperative research, its scientists work hard to confirm the dissolution and casting conditions.

Those of the Hamhung Branch of the State Academy of Sciences concentrates on the home-production of catalysts needed for establishing the C-1 chemical industry.

The scientists involved in the research related to the production of agricultural chemicals confirmed the technical specifications for the production of various agricultural chemicals in a short period, and push forward with the preparations for mass-producing the agricultural chemicals in close contact with relevant organs.
