Expansion of Production Capacity Propelled in DPRK
Pyongyang, August 6 (KCNA) -- The metallurgical and chemical industrial establishments in the DPRK push forward with the work for expanding their production capacity.

The Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex resolves the technical problems arising in expanding its capacity in cooperation with different units.

The Chollima Steel Complex speeds up the construction of a gas producer for furnace heating metal materials to be fed into 6,000-ton press. It also puts efforts into reducing the melting time of electric furnaces by introducing advanced technologies in cooperation with a scientific research institute.

To attain a long-term goal of drastically increasing the iron ore production capacity in the western area, the development of the Sohaeri branch of the Unryul Mine is underway.

Chemical industrial establishments across the country are bustling with the work for remodeling the structure of the chemical industry to put it on a Juche and modern basis.

Efforts are concentrated on the projects for expanding the production capacity of the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex, establishing C-1 chemical industry and remodeling the Sinuiju Chemical Fibre Mill.

Coal, electric power, machine, mining and construction and building-materials industries also direct efforts to expansion of production capacity, while updating or reinforcing the production lines of factories.
