Freshwater Fish Farming Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- Successes have been made in scientific freshwater fish farming in the DPRK.

The Sohung Poman Fish Farm, the Sunchon Catfish Factory and other fish farms across the country make fish farming highly intensive by putting on a scientific basis the work for ensuring quality, temperature, oxygen content and pH value of water for different species of fish and for lowering the cost price of feed.

They took technical measures for raising the survival rate of fry, thus breeding more fry than last year.

The breeders working at the cage-net fish farms in Pyongyang and Jagang Province and others across the country breed fish in a scientific way while trying to reduce feed consumption as much as possible and introducing the advanced fish breeding methods according to the specific features of waters and the depth of water.

Many fish farming units are securing protein feed needed for raising and breeding of fish after establishing their own animal protein feed production ground in a scientific and technical way, and are cultivating grass rich in protein as natural feed.
