Beautiful Traits of Helping Each Other Prevailing in DPRK
Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- Fine virtues and affection have been witnessed in the flood-afflicted areas of South Hamgyong Province of the DPRK.

Flood victims, who lost houses and properties due to downpour and flood early in August, live in the office buildings of county organs including the County Party Committee.

Saying in tears that his family has lived in the office of a senior official of the County Party Committee for several days, a war veteran residing in Sinhung County expressed gratitude to the officials of the County Party Committee for taking good care of him and his family by preparing palatable dishes for them and frequently calling on him to inquire of his health and ensure convenience.

A newly married couple in Hamhung spent nights to prepare quilts, household goods and gloves to be sent to the flood victims and the builders who are taking part in the rehabilitation of flood-stricken areas. Nowadays, such good deeds can be seen in every family of South Hamgyong Province.

One farmer, who was on the verge of death due to an accident in a reconstruction site, recovered consciousness two days after operation in Hongwon County People's Hospital, thanks to officials of the farm and medical workers.

After being aware of devotion to him made by many people, he said that the social atmosphere of helping each other gets stronger at a time of hardship.

People across the country also send building materials necessary for the rehabilitation of the flood-hit areas in the province.

It is a unanimous aspiration and will of the Korean people to share joy and sorrow and overcome difficulties with their united efforts.
