At the meeting, Han Jong Hyok, chairman of the Central Committee of the Union, made a report to be followed by speeches.

The reporter and speakers said that the national liberation brought about by President Kim Il Sung was a great event which put an end to the distress-torn history of the Korean nation and made a fundamental turn in carving out the destiny of the Korean people.

The anti-Japanese revolutionary war, in which bloody life-or-death battles were fought against the brigandish Japanese imperialists in such worst conditions as having no state backing and support of a regular army, was the most arduous and harshest one against imperialism unprecedented in the world war history, they said.

They stressed that the revolutionary exploits of the President, who saved the country and the nation from the fate of colonial slaves and set a world-historic example of the struggle for national liberation by leading the anti-Japanese war to victory, will shine forever.

They expressed their determination to make tangible contributions to hastening the accomplishment of the socialist cause by thoroughly carrying out the important tasks set forth at the 8th Party Congress and plenary meetings of the Party Central Committee, fully demonstrating the dignity and mettle of Kim Il Sung's and Kim Jong Il's Korea under the leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Attending the meeting were Hong Chol Jin, secretary of the Pyongyang City Party Committee, officials of the union and agricultural workers.
