Anniversary of National Liberation Marked in DPRK
Pyongyang, August 16 (KCNA) -- All the people in the DPRK celebrated the 76th anniversary of national liberation.

On the occasion, many people visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il lie in state, and looked back with deep emotion on the feats of the peerless patriot, the great sage who liberated the country and built a new country where the people became its master.

Working people, service personnel, youth and students placed floral baskets, bunches of flowers and flowers before the statues of the President and the Chairman on Mansu Hill and their statues and mosaics of their smiling images in different parts of the country.

Visitors to the Arch of Triumph showed great reverence for the President who set a world-historic example of the struggle for national liberation in colonial countries.

Working people, service personnel, youth and students visited the Revolutionary Martyrs Cemetery on Mt. Taesong to pay tribute.

The flags of the DPRK were hoisted in the streets of the capital city and major places of local areas and visual aids displayed to rev up the atmosphere of the holiday. And colorful performances were given at theatres.

The Mansudae Art Troupe gave a music and dance performance at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre, the National Symphony Orchestra a concert at the Moranbong Theatre. And a circus show was given at the Pyongyang Circus Theater.

Central art troupes and itinerant art squads gave performances in different parts of the capital city to liven up the atmosphere of the holiday.

Celebration performances were also given by the artistes of provincial art troupes in different parts of the country.
