Protests against National Discrimination Staged in Japan
Pyongyang, August 19 (KCNA) -- Strong protests have been staged across Japan against an unfair ruling made by Japanese judicial authorities availing themselves of the Japanese authorities' discrimination against Korean schools in Japan.

The 435th Tuesday-action was sponsored by a Japanese organization in Osaka on August 3 in denunciation of the Japanese judicial authorities.

During the action, Koreans and Japanese citizens in Osaka denounced the Japanese regime and judicial authorities for having drawn the sword of vicious national discrimination on the students of Korean schools.

The Tuesday-action also took place on Aug. 10.

On Aug. 6, a Friday-action was held outside the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology by students of Korean schools, their parents, teachers and other Koreans and Japanese citizens to demand the application of the tuition-free program for senior high schools to Korean schools.

Participants in the action said that the ruling made by the Japanese judicial authorities is a clear proof of deep-rooted national chauvinism rampant in Japanese society.

Meanwhile, there took place in Sapporo on July 31 street propaganda activities and demonstration calling for defending the right to national education, which were attended by officials of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon), members of the Korean Youth League in Japan, teachers and members of the mothers society in Hokkaido and Japanese personages of a society supporting Korean schools in Hokkaido.

Saying that the Japanese authorities get ever more undisguised in their discrimination against students of Korean schools, they vowed to struggle till the just right to national education is acquired.
