New Scientific Research Achievements Made in DPRK
Pyongyang, August 23 (KCNA) -- Scientists and technicians in the DPRK are making new scientific research achievements with high enthusiasm for the development of self-supporting economy.

Scientists of the State Academy of Sciences are taking the lead in it.

Those of its Automation Institute conduct research on reducing the measurement errors of electromagnetic flow meter in order to enable the correct measurement of the quantity of water used by hydraulic turbines and put load distribution on a scientific basis, thus contributing to resolving the problems arising in electricity production.

Those of the Central Mining Research Institute work hard to gain more successes after providing a sci-tech guarantee for realizing the domestic production of ferroalloy with low-grade minerals.

Scientists of the Academy of Forest Science exert themselves to solve the sci-tech problems arising in afforestation.

They have developed nano growth stimulants to increase the growth rate of saplings and devised a method of breeding good species.

Scientists and technicians of different universities also redouble their efforts to fulfill their responsibilities and duties. Scientists of Kim Chaek University of Technology have made achievements in solving sci-tech problems arising in raising the level of scientific accuracy of measurement in marine observation to suit the specific conditions of our country.

Those in Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering have newly developed hard alloy tools with technical superiority and introduced them into various units to prove their effectiveness.

And those in Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry have made achievements in research conducive to increasing the production of regenerated fiber.
