"Korea-Japan Annexation Treaty" Fabricated by Japanese Imperialists
Pyongyang, August 27 (KCNA) -- The fabrication of the "Korea-Japan Annexation Treaty" by the Japanese imperialists in the past was the unprecedented vicious move to deprive the Korean nation of its national sovereignty in order to obliterate Korea with a brilliant history and culture spanning 5,000 years.

The Japanese imperialists cooked up the "Ulsa Five-point Treaty" in November 1905 to divest Korea of its diplomatic right and establish colonial domination. They fabricated the "Korea-Japan Annexation Treaty" in a coercive manner on August 22, 1910 by deploying thousands of troops in the center of Seoul and threatening and blackmailing the Korean feudal dynasty by warship.

Sunjong, the last emperor of the feudal Joson dynasty (1392-1910), disclosed on his death-bed that "annexation of Korea by Japan" was not approved by him but fabricated and declared by Japan in collusion with traitors.

There was no sign of the emperor on the "royal instruction" concerning the "annexation" but only royal seal used in administrative settlement. But the "royal edict" of the Japanese king made public on the same day bore the king's seal and sign. This proves the absurdity of Japan's insistence on the "legitimate annexation approved by Emperor Sunjong."

The Japanese imperialists, frightened by the Korean people's anti-Japanese struggle, made public on August 29 the document they had illegally fabricated in violation of the elementary principles and standards concerning the conclusion of international treaties.

The disaster and tragedy the Korean people suffered during the decades-long fascist and repressive colonial rule by the Japanese imperialists to exterminate the Korean nation remain as an unhealed wound.

Now Japan persistently resorts to the anachronistic hostile policy toward the DPRK, dreaming of reinvasion, far from making apology and reparation for its atrocities in the past.

Japan's behavior of adding to the past crimes further excites the anti-Japanese sentiments of the Korean people.
