Song Popular among Young People of DPRK
Pyongyang, August 27 (KCNA) -- The song "My Father and Mother in Their Youth" composed in Juche 84 (1995) has been popular among the young people in the DPRK as it reminds people of patriotism the young people of the preceding generation had cherished.

The song reflects the pride and self-confidence of the new generation that respecting as the forerunners of revolution those people of the Chollima age who built socialism on this land under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea and President Kim Il Sung after the ceasefire, and the enthusiasm of the young people to emulate them.

Ri Chol, a youth league member of the Pyongyang Electric Cable General Factory 326, told KCNA:

The people of the Chollima age, our grandfathers, grandmothers, fathers and mothers, found the value of a genuine life and pride in unconditionally implementing the decisions and instructions of the Party with collective innovations. Their unshakable faith that the bright future is sure to come on the road of trusting and following the Party has taken root in the minds of the young people today.

Rim Hyon Dok, a student of Kim Chaek University of Technology, said:

The song is favored by the young people as it depicts the real life of our fathers and mothers. To glorify the history of loyalty and patriotism of our country is the aspiration of us, young people. I will become a performer of heroic feats and pioneer of a new charging spirit of the youth loved by the country and the people in the struggle for bringing earlier a new victory of revolution, emulating the forerunners of the revolution who glorified the Chollima age with miracles and feats.
