This year, over 1,000 university students were awarded University Student Scientific Research Prize and some university students proved successful at the international internet program contest Codechef several times.

Students of Kim Il Sung University contributed to solving the theoretical problems arising in developing the control technology in the field of automatic control and to finding the ways of their implementation. And they also registered other achievements in resolving the pressing issues arising in several sectors of the national economy.

Students of Kim Chaek University of Technology completed the automatic control system necessary for cooling the electric generator of the Pyongyang Thermal Power Plant. This provided a scientific and technological guarantee for putting the power generation on a normal and safe basis.

Among the prize winners are students of Pyongyang University of Architecture who displayed their high abilities in drawing up layout plans for sprucing up Samjiyon City and other important projects.

Students of Pyongyang University of Medicine, Hamhung University of Pharmacology and Koryo Songgyungwan University have succeeded in developing ability-assessing program and carrying on study of ointments and functional soft drinks. This has contributed to the improvement of students' ability and the promotion of the people's health.

The prize was also conferred on many students of Kim Hyong Jik University of Education, and other universities.

Students of Kim Il Sung University and University of Sciences won in several Codechef contests this year.
