Pyongyang, September 2 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea is a Juche-based revolutionary government that inherited the traditions of the anti-Japanese war, and it is a great asset the Korean people achieved through arduous struggle. The DPRK steadily grew in strength, making gigantic creation and epoch-making changes in each period of revolution. It is now opening up a new heyday of prosperity and grandeur while demonstrating to the full its dignity and might as a powerful country. This reality would have been unthinkable without the wise guidance of President Kim Il Sung who provided a solid basis for founding the DPRK. Proceeding from the principle of the Juche idea that the popular masses are masters of the revolution and construction and they are also the motive force of the revolution and construction, the President set forth a unique idea and line on the building of a people's power at various meetings held during the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle. In the first half of the 1930s when the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle developed into a full-scale armed struggle, he made sure that a people's revolutionary government suited to the specific realities of the Korean revolution was established at guerrilla bases in the area along the shore of the River Tuman. In the course, he accumulated precious experiences for building a people's power. He saw to it that the people's revolutionary government fulfilled its role as the defender of the popular masses' independent rights and their servant and enforced democratic reforms like land reform and popular policies so that the inhabitants at the guerrilla bases could keenly feel the advantages of the new power. He also paid great efforts to the preparations for founding the party from the first period of the anti-Japanese revolution. And he organized the revolutionary army before founding the state and thus provided a political and military foundation for the state building. Thanks to the unique idea and line on building a people' power, the sacred tradition and rich experiences gained through the establishment of a people's revolutionary government and the firm political and military foundations provided in the flames of the anti-Japanese war, the Korean people could successfully achieve the cause of founding the state within a few years, despite the difficult and complicated circumstances after the country's liberation from Japan's colonial rule. |
