Such traditional cosmetics made in the DPRK by mixing Kaesong Koryo insam with other tens of kinds of natural medicinal materials scientifically are now gaining popularity among the consumers. They include "Pomhyanggi", "Kumgangsan", "Unhasu" and "Nari"-trademarked cosmetics.

Those cosmetics are good for skin care as natural functional materials are well permeated and absorbed into skin. The functional cosmetics are effective in whitening, moisturizing and preventing skin-aging.

They have gained popularity in other countries, too.

In particular, an anti-aging nutrient solution based on Ganoderma lucida incubation won an inventor medal and certificate from the World Intellectual Property Organization in Juche 108 (2019).
