The symposium held on the theme of "Local production of paints and coating materials" aims at contributing to boosting the independence of the building-materials industry by sharing and exchanging achievements and experiences gained in developing paints and coating materials on the basis of our own raw materials.

Attending the symposium were scientists, technologists and researchers of more than ten units including the Paektusan Institute of Architecture, Pyongyang University of Architecture, Wonsan University of Agriculture and the Pyongyang Jonghyang Building Materials Factory. Teachers of the universities also attended the event.

Presented there were over twenty valuable papers.

During the symposium there was a lecture on the global trend of the development of paints and coating materials.
