|
|
Pyongyang, September 24 (KCNA) -- North Hamgyong Province of the DPRK conducts offshore fish farming in a far-sighted way. The North Hamgyong Provincial Fishery Management Bureau directs efforts to further consolidating the material and technological foundations of offshore fish farms to boost productivity. It also pushes ahead with establishing artificial culture grounds and scientific fish breeding system. The Jikha Atlantic Salmon Pedigree Farm pushes forward with the second-stage project while taking measures to put fry breeding on a scientific footing. Several units under the bureau concentrate on the research into rounding off the cyclic system for breeding myongthae (Alaska pollack) fry. They manufactured and installed various equipment with their own efforts and technology, thus raising the scientific level of fry breeding. This year they have released more than 100,000 fry into the sea. |
