DPRK Premier Inspects Agricultural Sector

Pyongyang, October 5 (KCNA) -- Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, inspected the agricultural sector of North and South Hwanghae provinces. Visiting food administration units in Sariwon City and Jaeryong, Sinchon and Anak counties, the Paeksok and Songo co-op farms in Sinchon County, the Oguk Co-op Farm in Anak County and other farms, the premier gave pep talks to the working people striving to stabilize and improve the people's living and successfully conclude this year's farming, true to the administrative policy of the DPRK government clarified at the 5th Session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly. He underlined the need for cities and counties to put efforts into sprucing up their food administration units, modernizing their grain processing lines and increasing their capacity as intended by the Party that prioritizes the role of food administration field in providing the people with stabilized and wealthy life. Urging officials and workers to bear in mind that to finish harvesting and threshing in time is indispensable for successfully concluding this year's farming, he called for conducting meticulous operations and guidance to mobilize all manpower and means while raising the operational rate of farm machines to the maximum. The field consultative meetings discussed the measures to set an example in the city and county food administration and generalize it, expand the wheat and barley sowing area as required by the agricultural development strategy of the Party and make full preparations for next year's farming. He also visited the Pyongyang Corn Processing Factory where he took measures for improving the grain processing and supply as required by the present situation. Earlier, he learned about the progress made in the production of custom-built equipment at the Taean Heavy Machine Complex. |
