Ko Yong Suk, the first hero in the textile industrial sector of the country, carried out the daily production plan at over 500 percent by running much more weaving machines than the standard number and won the title of DPRK Labor Hero at the age of 24 in February Juche 42 (1953), the period of the Fatherland Liberation War (1950-1953).

Ri Hwa Sun, a pioneer of the multi-machine tending movement, ran 72 weaving machines alone to record the highest production result by turning out one million meters of cloth a year. Later, she tended 80 machines in all and emerged as a winner of the Order of Kim Il Sung and the title of Labor Hero and as a deputy to the Supreme People's Assembly.

In the postwar period, Kim Pong Rye carried out the three-year plan in seven months and trained more than 450 skilled workers to win the title of Labor Hero. Following her, five persons became labor heroes.

In the period of grand socialist construction, a multi-spindle, multi-loom tending movement was conducted on a mass scale at the mill and eight heroes were produced in the course.

Mun Kang Sun, a weaver of the mill, became the 17th hero at thirty in 2012.

In September 2012, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un called in at her new house built in Changjon Street in Central District, Pyongyang City, and had a picture taken with her and her husband, the newly married couple.
