Party Founding Museum
Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- The Party Founding Museum is at the south foot of Haebang Hill in the central part of Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK.

This museum, opened in October Juche 59 (1970), is a historic building at which the birth of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) was declared. The building had been occupied by the Central Organizing Committee of the Communist Party of North Korea just after the liberation of Korea (August 15, 1945).

Preserved at the two-storied building as they were are office rooms, parlor and meeting room telling the history of President Kim Il Sung. There are also several show rooms at the museum.

While staying at this building, the President founded the Party and led the Korean revolution to victory. He met a large number of persons from different walks of life to give precious teachings to be served as guidelines in building a new country and showed parental love for them.

He called the 8th Enlarged Executive Committee of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of North Korea there to indicate in detail the principled problems arising in developing the Communist Party into a mass party of the working people and personally worked out the draft programme and rules of the Party. Also, meetings of weighty significance in building the WPK were convened at the building.

Historic data and relics showing the feats performed by the President in building the party, the state and the army during the building of a new country are on display at the show rooms. At a short distance from the museum, there is a house where the President lived after triumphal return to the homeland.

Recently, many historic data on his revolutionary activities have been displayed at the newly furnished show rooms of the museum.
