Youth Shock Brigades Active at Major Worksites in DPRK
Pyongyang, October 9 (KCNA) -- The young people of the DPRK have worked hard at major worksites for economic construction under uplifted banner of the flags of their youth shock brigade bearing the names of anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters and heroes.

In the period of the great Chollima upswing, they organized the youth shock brigades named after wartime heroes and performed miracles and feats every day at the Unpha-Sinchon railway construction site.

They also organized the Hero Ri Su Bok Youth Shock Brigade and took the lead in carrying out difficult and hard work at the Chongjin-Rajin railway construction site.

After the slogan "Let us become Kim Hyok and Cha Kwang Su in the 1980s" was set forth in the 1980s, the Kim Hyok Youth Shock Brigades and Cha Kwang Su Youth Shock Brigades were organized in different parts of the country and their members performed feats at major construction sites.

Many Kim Hyok Youth Shock Brigades and Cha Kwang Su Youth Shock Brigades were formed in the period when the speed of the 1980s was created.

Now that the whole country is bustling with the efforts for implementing the decisions of the Party congress, many youth shock brigades have been organized to perform miracles and feats in different parts of the country.

The number of youth shock brigades which fulfilled their national economic plans for two years is on the increase in the field of coal industry. They include the Kim Hyok Youth Shock Brigade and the Kang Ho Yong Youth Shock Brigade of the Chonsong Youth Coal Mine and the Cha Kwang Su Youth Shock Brigade of the Jagang Provincial Supply Mine.

The Kim Jin Youth Shock Brigade of the Hwanghae Iron and Steel Complex, the Kim Hyok Youth Shock Brigade of the February 8 Vinalon Complex and the Cha Kwang Su Youth Shock Brigade of the Pyongyang Thermal Power Plant and other shock brigades have taken the lead in the struggle for implementing the Party's decisions.
