The foundation of the WPK was a solemn declaration that signified the birth of a new-type revolutionary party in the era of independence, and a great event that brought about a radical turn in carving out the destiny of our people, says Rodong Sinmun in its editorial, and goes on:

The history of our Party spanning over seven decades is shining with a glorious course in which it, together with the great people, has brought about epoch-making changes in all spheres of the revolution and construction, braving the severest difficulties.

The history of the WPK is a proud one in which it has always led the revolution to victory with full responsibility for the destiny of the people under the leadership of the outstanding leaders.

Our Party has formed a harmonious whole with the people and successfully carved out the popular masses' cause of independence since when it has its red flag representing the people, which would have been unthinkable without the "The People Are God" idea of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il and their popular leadership.

Today, our Party is demonstrating its might as an invincible revolutionary one absolutely supported and trusted by the people, as it holds in high esteem the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Our Party is the genuine servant party that devotes itself to the people. It reveres the people as much as it had held Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in esteem, and unhesitatingly and successfully carries out any heavy and huge task desired by the people. This is the true appearance of the WPK in the great era of Kim Jong Un.

It is the steadfast will of Kim Jong Un to firmly defend the independent dignity of the people and surely ensure the prosperity of all generations to come.

Under the leadership of the WPK advancing the revolution and construction by relying on the popular masses, the might of a hammer, sickle and brush, which form the Party's emblem representing all our people, will be more powerfully demonstrated, through which the Korean-style socialism will always emerge victorious.

Invincible is the cause of the WPK forming a harmonious whole with the people, making selfless, devoted efforts for their good and advancing by depending on their inexhaustible might of the people.

Minju Joson in its editorial says that the WPK has written the longest history as a socialist ruling party while making an unremitting journey for the revolution with the sacred fighting program to realize the independence of the popular masses and accomplish the great cause of building a prosperous and powerful country since its foundation.
