Pyongyang, October 22 (KCNA) -- True to the intention of the Workers' Party of Korea on bringing about a change in improving the standard of people's living, the Central Mushroom Institute under the Ministry of Agriculture in the DPRK bred nearly 20 kinds of high-yielding mushrooms and established their cultivation technique in recent years. Among those new species, which can be cultivated according to seasons, are Pleurotus abalonus, Ganoderma tsugae, Volvariella volvacea and Auricularia auricula. The institute is now concentrating on the research to cultivate the newly-bred mushroom species in an industrial way. The Central Mushroom Institute was wonderfully built in a little over three months under the energetic guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un making a new history of industrialization of mushroom cultivation. The institute where formative art was successfully introduced into architecture has all conditions needed for the mushroom research, including research rooms, laboratories, room for storing products and mushroom cultivation site. Kim Jong Un visited the institute in October Juche 102 (2013) and gave an important instruction on turning it into a scientific research base giving actual benefit to the people. Over the past years, the institute has confirmed various species of edible and medical mushrooms and supplied them to cultivation units across the country. |
