Protection of National Heritages in DPRK
Pyongyang, October 23 (KCNA) -- A work to protect the national heritages has been steadily conducted as an all-people patriotic undertaking in the DPRK.

President Kim Il Sung regarded the national heritage conservation as an important work not only for the historical development but also for heightening the people's patriotism. And Chairman Kim Jong Il took measures to discover and protect the excellent cultural heritages of the nation on a full scale.

The national heritage conservation has been more actively conducted in the country after the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made public a famous work "National Heritage Conservation Is a Patriotic Undertaking for Adding Brilliance to the History and Traditions of Our Nation" on October 24, Juche 103 (2014).

Historical relics, beauty spots and natural monuments with significance of national treasure have been well preserved by the devoted efforts of the working people in months for taking care of national heritages every year. And many objects were listed as world heritages.

This year, too, tens of historical relics in Pyongyang and local areas were repaired and repainted and the Ogasan Nature Reserve, fossil bird "Paekthosae" and Pipha seal were registered as natural monuments.

And with the Law on the Protection of Scenic Spots and Natural Monuments amended, more solid legal guarantee was provided to protect the scenic spots and natural monuments and ensure the cultural life and health promotion of the people.
