From early September to October 25, rivers extending for more than 600 kilometers were improved throughout the country. In the course, 4.2 million cubic meters of river-beds were dredged, 5.3 million cubic meters of embankment repaired and 1.6 million square meters of stones laid to reinforce embankments.

North Hamgyong Province concluded hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of river-bed dredging and embankment and hundreds of thousands of square meters of stone laying at 20-odd objects.

The same is true of Thaechon County in North Phyongan Province, Ongjin County in South Hwanghae Province and Kaesong City, thus protecting many farm lands from flood and providing a guarantee for doing farm safely.
