The Ministry of Railways set a long-term objective and stepwise goals in a scientific and realistic way and takes positive measures for their implementation.

The modernization of railway tracks is given precedence.

The work is being pushed forward to successfully replace sleepers, as planned to be carried out during the five-year plan, by expanding the production capacity of concrete sleepers and putting the production on a normal basis within this year.

Big efforts have been directed into modernizing vehicles by upgrading production processes, repair bases and equipment at railway factories, engine service brigades and passenger and freight car corps.

A scrupulous project is underway, according to a detailed plan for building and managing railway tracks with modern machinery and equipment in a scientific way.

Practical measures are being taken to complete the railway construction now underway at an early date and finish other planned projects.

The ministry attaches importance to taking operational and technical measures for making an effective use of the existing transportation capacity to the maximum and establishing strict discipline and order in organizing and controlling railway transport.
