Households Cultivating Fruit Trees Increase in DPRK
Pyongyang, November 1 (KCNA) -- Households growing fruit trees in their courtyards increase in the countryside of the DPRK year by year.

Hwang Hyang Son, a housewife told KCNA that her family planted tens of fruit trees like peach, grape and apple trees around the house several years ago and harvested hundreds of kilograms of fruits last year.

In Anbyon County of Kangwon Province, well-known as a persimmon-production area, there are many families cultivating not only persimmon trees but also other various fruit trees.

Among them is Kim Yong Duk's family, which has grown more than 60 apple, pear, peach, plum and other fruit trees, except persimmon trees. Kim said that his house would be enveloped in flowers in spring and covered with lots of fruits in autumn.

Those households have shared their good experience with villagers for rich fruit harvest.

According to data available, millions of fruit trees were planted around houses in rural areas throughout the country this year.
