Cage-net Fish Farms Increase in DPRK
Pyongyang, November 3 (KCNA) -- Under the Workers' Party of Korea's noble intention for developing the fish farming on a large scale, cage-net fish farming has been vigorously conducted in different parts of the DPRK.

This year, many units across the country introduced mobile cage-net and enclosed cage-net fish farming, raising the fish production 1.3 times as against last year.

Fish farming units in South Phyongan and South Hwanghae provinces increased the cage-nets and established a scientific breeding and caring system.

Mobile cage-net and enclosed cage-net fish farms in the Taedong River considerably raised the weight ratio of fishes by controlling the feed mixing ratio well and introducing the breeding method suited to their characters. In particular, they built bases for producing Hermetia illucens, one of the animal protein feeds, to settle the primary feed for fishes.

Ryongjong fish, Kinyom fish (silver carp) and other fishes caught in the farms have been supplied to baby homes, orphanages, primary and middle schools for orphans, homes for the aged and commercial networks.

The history of cage-net fish farming in the country was begun under the detailed guidance of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

In November Juche 104 (2015), he came to a mobile cage-net fish farm in the Taedong River in Pyongyang despite the cold windy weather. Going round tens of breeding ponds with pleasure, he said that the cage-net fish farming would be a big reserve in implementing the WPK's fishing policy.

Referring to the steps to be taken for conducting the cage-net fish farming on a large scale one by one, he stressed that the people should enjoy the benefit from it practically.
