Flood Damage Information System Introduced in DPRK

| Pyongyang, November 8 (KCNA) -- Scientists of the Global Environmental Information Institute and the Hydraulic Engineering Research Institute of the State Academy of Sciences developed and introduced a flood damage information system to raise the natural disaster prevention capabilities at hydro-power stations. The information system, which makes it possible to pre-estimate and control the changes in water level of reservoirs and waterways and the volumes of flood incident to the rainfall in reservoir basins, will serve as another scientific foundation for minimizing flood damage and ensuring stable power production. |
