KCNA Commentary Blasts Japan's Military Moves

Pyongyang, November 10 (KCNA) -- Japan persistently continues to fuel military tensions. Recently, the Japan Air "Self-Defense Force" has performed a mobile and deployment drill of the land-devoted "patriot" interceptor missile whose intercepting efficiency was said to be enhanced in Yokosuka City of Kanagawa Prefecture. This time also, Japan announced that "the drill is aimed at dispelling the people's security worries." Japan often stages missile mobile and deployment drills in different parts of the archipelago every year on the pretext of easing worry about "threat" from a certain country. It even lets such drills be waged even in a park in the metropolitan city of Tokyo. Japan's frequent drills are little short of the exhibition of a sinister intention to secure justification for building a military giant and to hurriedly realize its wild dream of overseas expansion by further fueling the awareness of "security uneasiness and crisis" among its people. At present, Japan's moves to turn itself into a military giant have gained momentum. It is considering increasing the military spending, which has been limited to within 1 percent of GDP, more than 2 times and this has led to a decision to draw up the "defense" budget for 2022 to be an all-time high. Amid ever-rising rhetoric about the "unprecedentedly grave security in surrounding areas" in the Japanese political circles and military, Japan is actively stepping up the introduction of cutting-edge war equipment designed for a preemptive attack as evidenced by the purchase of the latest stealth fighters, development of long-range cruise missiles and the possession of aircraft carriers. Shortly ago, the very latest 3,000-tonnage submarine was launched and then the first large-sized tanker to be used by the maritime SDF was set afloat. Whenever Japan ratchets up the moves to build a military power stage by stage, it claims that "it is within the necessary minimum scope" to cope with the so-called "threats from surroundings", only to betray more of its dark intentions. No matter how loud Japan may talk about "threats from surroundings", it can't cover up its true colors as a war state, a state of aggression hell-bent on a wild ambition for overseas expansion and reinvasion. Stoking up "security uneasiness" while finding fault with others will never bring beneficial results to Japan. Japan's dangerous moves to build a military power only strain the regional tension and raise neighboring countries' vigilance against it. |
