Green Jacket and Crimson Skirt, National Dress of Korean Women
Pyongyang, November 11 (KCNA) -- Green jacket and crimson skirt is a national dress of the Korean women.

This attire is believed to appear in the period of the feudal Joson dynasty (1392-1910) and spread with Phyongan Province as the center.

Korean women have liked very much to wear green jacket and red skirt in wedding ceremony, holidays and other celebrations and the saying "if possible, takes crimson skirt" is derived from this attire.

Its characteristic is to make the sleeves and collar of the jacket with red cloth, the same color of the skirt. Folklorists would say that this attire reflects the graceful and beautiful figures of the Korean women and their soft and strong spirit.

The green jacket and crimson skirt was included last year in the Korean traditional costumes, which was registered as a national intangible cultural heritage in November Juche 102 (2013).
