He visited the tree nursery in November Juche 103 (2014) and gave instructions on turning out more saplings by expanding its sapling production base, perfecting the tree planting and cultivating methods suited to the features of the country and developing forest science and technology.

Stressing the need to well conduct the afforestation and forest protection and management in the country where the mountains account for nearly 80 percent of the territory, he ardently called on the entire party and army and all the people to turn out in a general forest restoration campaign, deeming it a war with nature.

In response to his call, all the people rose up as one in the campaign and a radical change was made in the tree nursery work.

Today, the tree nursery has more wonderfully turned into a leading sapling producer where the production is put on a scientific, industrial and intensive basis of higher level. Recently, seed selection and sowing grounds were splendidly built and an outdoor cultivation ground covering several hectares was additionally created.

It turns out tens of millions of saplings, including good new species of trees, every year to be supplied to the forest restoration campaign sites across the country.
