Projects for Updating Agricultural Sector Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, November 18 (KCNA) -- Projects for putting agricultural production and management on a scientific and modern basis by using the latest IT and information and communication means are brisk in the DPRK.

Successes have been made in reasonably allocating crops and species in a nationwide scale with the use of IT and in scientifically judging and forecasting the farming, growth of crops and disaster by insects and drought as well as harvest for each field and season.

IT products including a detailed farming planning program for each plot have been introduced, laying a foundation for putting the agricultural production on a fairly high IT basis.

Organs for agricultural guidance, cooperative farms and institutes of agricultural science get in touch for the discussion of sci-tech problems arising in agricultural sci-tech learning, sharing of experience and reality with the help of a dedicated website.

The work for minimizing the damage by disastrous abnormal weather is under way with the use of a crop-growth forecasting system which informs agricultural meteorological conditions and corresponding measures for different seasons.

Agricultural workers, being well aware of the significance and importance of putting the agricultural production on IT basis, take an active part in it.
