Symposium on Space Science and Technology-2021 Held
Pyongyang, November 21 (KCNA) -- The Symposium on Space Science and Technology-2021 took place from Nov. 17 to 19 under the sponsorship of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.

The symposium was aimed at positively propelling the space development of the country by widely disseminating and generalizing the latest sci-tech achievements the scientists and technicians in the field of space development made true to the policy of the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government on peaceful space development.

Present at the symposium were scientists, technicians, teachers, graduate students and officials of scientific and educational institutions, including Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology and the State Academy of Sciences.

Over 190 treatises presented by different units were examined and appraised at the symposium which was held divided into the panels of artificial satellite, space materials and elements, space observation and basic science and applied technology.

Drawing the attention of experts were treatises that solved in a fresh way the urgent matters arising in further developing the technologies of satellite development, control, observation and communication like the one for manufacturing and testing satellite and fittings, the one for satellite navigation and control of satellite orbit and attitude, the one for developing synthetic aperture radar and satellite camera, the one of satellite communication and observation and the one for developing various space materials.

Highly appreciated at the symposium were such technologies as surveying soil and forest resources, presupposing natural disasters, automatically detecting afflicted areas and quantitatively assessing damage with the use of satellite data.

The symposium came to be an occasion substantially conducive to confidently propelling our space development plan in keeping with the positive international efforts for developing and using space, a common wealth of mankind, and to developing the economy of the country.
