He visited the university on November 26, Juche 102 (2013) and highly appreciated its achievements made for six decades after its foundation. He noted that it has demonstrated the might of an authorized and prestigious architectural designing group by ensuring the designing of edifices worthy of national treasure on the highest level and creating and designing many famous structures. And he set forth tasks for bringing a radical turn in its educational work as demanded by the developing reality, going round the educational science exhibition, architectural designing room and other places of the university.

True to his on-site instructions, the university has directed efforts into training the sci-tech talents shouldering the country's architectural development.

It founded 120-odd new subjects and invented more than 300 practical education methods while enhancing the students' creative thinking faculty through the introduction of aid program for study, programs for simulation experiment and practice and multimedia programs into lectures and practical training. And it strengthened the education in architectural designing, including computer-based 5D designing, interior and structure designing of buildings and furniture designing, and the fine art education for developing the students' idea in space and their sense of shape, comparison and color.

In the course, the university has produced at least 340 University Student Scientific Research Prize winners and 10-odd classes of A students. Pencil drawings and architectural designs, created by more than 100 students of the university, won a high appreciation at national pencil drawing festivals and designing contests of university students in the field of construction.

Its students completed more than 10,000 architectural designs to contribute to the construction of the Sci-Tech Complex, dwelling houses and public buildings in Kwangmyongsong-dong and Rimyongsu-dong of Samjiyon City, etc.
