It was his goal and worth of life to work heart and soul for the building of a thriving nation and the people's happiness. That's why he had been always on the road of field guidance by car and train. Wearing an ordinary padded jacket and a simple jumper, he visited civilians and servicepersons to give them vigor and wisdom and show paternal affection.

In those days, such historical terms as "forced march in the blizzards of winter", "forced march in the sweltering weather" and "forced march at midnight" came into being.

He personally drove the car to cross rugged Chol Pass and 152 bends of steep path in Mt Osong so as to inspect forefront units of the Korean People's Army and even went into a large-sized waterway tunnel by turning on the headlights in order to see the creation impregnated with servicepersons' blood and sweat.

With a padded jacket put on, he made a forced march in the blizzards of winter to guide the works of Jagang Province while traveling the distance of more than 2,400 kilometers. In Juche 97 (2008), he visited many units one after another all the year despite severe cold and scorching heat.

He continued his energetic revolutionary activities till December 17, 2011, the last day of his great life and passed away on a running train.

Indeed, the revolutionary career of Chairman Kim Jong Il was a brilliant life of the peerlessly great patriot.
