Oath-taking Meeting of Young People

Pyongyang, December 16 (KCNA) -- An oath-taking meeting was held by young people of the DPRK on Wednesday ahead of the 10th anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il's demise. The meeting held before the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill was attended by Ri Tu Song, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, officials of the youth league and youths and students of Pyongyang. Before the meeting, the participants placed a floral basket and bouquets before the statues of the great leaders and paid high tribute to them. A report was made by Mun Chol, chairman of the Central Committee of the Socialist Patriotic Youth League, at the meeting, to be followed by speeches. Saying that the young vanguards' ardent yearning for Kim Jong Il grows all the more stronger in December, the reporter and speakers said that his revolutionary life is a noble history of attaching importance to and loving youth in which he dedicated his loving care to bringing up the young people to shoulder the destiny of the country and the nation. They stressed that the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un has given limitless strength and courage to the young people so that they can always march straight forward, following the Party and raised them up to be creators of legendary tales about the heroic youth and masters of a youth power. A letter of pledge was then read out at the meeting. The letter expressed the iron will of all youths in the country to glorify the immortal revolutionary careers of the peerlessly great men for all ages and build without fail a powerful socialist country where the noble desires and wishes of the President and the Chairman have been realized under the leadership of Kim Jong Un. |
