Attending it were Wang Chen, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the Chinese National People's Congress who is a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and officials of the party, government and social organizations of China.

The participants placed a floral basket in the name of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China before the portraits of smiling President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il and observed a moment's silence in memory of the Chairman.

Then they looked round the pictures showing the revolutionary career of the Chairman and the undying feats performed by Kim Jong Il and the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in developing the DPRK-China friendly relations.

Wang Chen asked Ri Ryong Nam to convey the warm greetings and best wishes of Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, to Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).

Wang Chen said that he, upon authorization of the C.C., CPC, visited the DPRK embassy.

He said that the Chairman who devoted his all to the prosperity of Korea and the people's happiness all his life and made a great contribution to the development of the China-DPRK friendly relations will be alive in the hearts of the peoples of the two countries.

He said that the traditional China-DPRK friendship serves as precious wealth for both sides, expressing the firm stand of the Chinese side to propel the steady development of the China-DPRK friendly ties by thoroughly implementing the joint understanding of the top leaders of the two parties.
