Korean People Mourn Chairman Kim Jong Il

Pyongyang, December 18 (KCNA) -- All the civilians and servicepersons in the DPRK mourned Chairman Kim Jong Il, the eternal image of socialist Korea and great sage of the revolution, in the deepest reverence for him on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of his demise. An endless stream of visitors was seen in the plaza of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il lie in state. At the park of the plaza of the Palace, they made deep bows toward the portraits of the smiling great leaders, wishing for their immortality. Party members, working people and servicepersons across the country placed floral baskets, bouquets and flowers before the statues of the President and the Chairman on Mansu Hill and their statues and the mosaics picturing their smiling images in different parts of the country. They watched documentaries dealing with the Chairman's long journey of patriotic devotion and immortal revolutionary feats. Working people's organizations across the country held such events as a meeting for hearing stories about the greatness and virtue of the Chairman, a poem reciting and a concert. |
