Pyongyang, December 18 (KCNA) -- The revolutionary zeal is growing stronger among the youths in the DPRK who are turning out in the struggle for a new victory, true to the main idea and spirit of the 8th Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea. According to an official of the C.C., Socialist Patriotic Youth League, the number of youths volunteering to work in difficult and labor-consuming sectors has steadily increased until now after the 8th Party Congress in January. Since 140-odd young people of Nampho City volunteered to work in farms in March, many officials of the youth league and young people in different parts of the country have joined in the ranks of volunteers to work in such sectors as metal, coal and mining industries. In his historic letter to the 10th Congress of the youth league, the respected General Secretary Kim Jong Un praised the mental world of those volunteers, saying that their deed is as heroic as going to the frontline at wartime and unhesitatingly blocking the enemy's gun muzzle with one's body. In August, he called all of them to the grand celebrations held in Pyongyang to mark the Youth Day. And he sent a congratulatory letter to the participants in the celebrations and met the young people who started with a clean slate and had a photo taken with them. Choe Chung Song, head of the Kim Kwang Chol Youth Shock Brigade at a coal mine in the west region of the country, told KCNA: The General Secretary told us that it is important to receive the title of hero by performing merits, but it is more important to live like heroes at all times. I will display my youthful strength and zeal to the full to repay his deep trust. |
