This year, all units under the Ministry of Coal Industry invented and introduced more than 1,200 technologies, thus consolidating the material and technological foundations of coal mines and bringing about remarkable progress in the fulfillment of the national economic plan for the first year of the implementation of the decisions of the 8th Party Congress.

The ministry and all the coal-mining complexes kept prospecting and tunneling ahead of mining, readjusted and reinforced coal-dressing processes and set workable technical development plans for increasing coal-production capacity. And they pushed forward with the organizational work to carry out the plans.

Coal-mining machine factories and self-reliance bases pushed ahead with technical innovation for recycling, while producing and supplying necessary equipment and materials in reliance on locally available raw materials and their own technical personnel.

Bearing in mind that the way of successfully attaining the goals for the first year of the new five-year plan is to give definite precedence to science and technology, officials of the relevant units aroused the creative ingenuity of technical personnel and skilled workers by finding out talents and providing them with fine working and living conditions.
