A memorial service of Koreans in Japan was held at the Central Hall of Chongryon in Tokyo of Japan.

Attending it were Ho Jong Man, chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, Pak Ku Ho, first vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and director of its Organization Department, Nam Sung U, vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, Pae Jin Gu, vice-chairman and concurrently director general of the General Affairs Department of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, Jo Il Yon, vice-chairman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, Song Kun Hak, vice-chairman and concurrently director of the Education Department of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee, Kang Chu Ryon, vice-chairwoman of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee and chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Democratic Korean Women in Japan, Ri Myong Yu, chairman of the Central Audit Committee of Chongryon, advisers and members of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon, leading officials of central organizations and affiliates and chair

persons and officials of Chongryon headquarters in Kanto area.

All the participants paid a silent tribute to the memory of Kim Jong Il.

Ho Jong Man in his memorial address stressed that Chairman Kim Jong Il is always alive in the hearts of the Chongryon officials and all other Korean residents in Japan as the great leader who took warm care of Chongryon and compatriots in Japan with his paternal love, defended their destinies and strengthened Chongryon into a powerful Juche-oriented organization of overseas compatriots.

The speaker noted that 10 years from December in 2011 up to now are recorded as a history of great immortality when the idea and exploits of the Chairman shed bright rays with each passing day as the Korean people has held the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in high esteem as the great sun.

There were a lecture and a photo exhibition by Chongryon.

Displayed at the photo exhibition were a portrait of smiling Chairman Kim Jong Il and photos documenting the noble revolutionary careers of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il who were always together on the road for the country and people and wisely led the socialist homeland and the movement of Koreans in Japan and the energetic revolutionary activities of Kim Jong Un.

There took place a meeting of officials of the Chongryon Central Standing Committee praying for the immortality of Kim Jong Il and a meeting of officials of the Korean Youth League in Japan pledging to be loyal to Kim Jong Un.

Meanwhile, a concert "Song of Loyalty" by the Korean University committee of the Korean Youth League in Japan was given at the Korean University in Tokyo on December 10 on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the demise of the Chairman.

The regional headquarters of Chongryon in Osaka, Hyogo, Kyoto, Aichi, Ibaraki, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Hokkaido and other areas of Japan held memorial services and meetings in a solemn atmosphere.
