There was a memorial meeting of the United Confederation of Koreans in Russia in Moscow on December 15.

Speaking at the meeting, Kim Chil Song, chairman of the confederation, expressed the everlasting yearning and ardent reverence for Kim Jong Il, noting that 10 years have passed since his demise.

The greatest feat of Kim Jong Il is that he provided a firm foundation for accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche by faithfully carrying forward the idea and exploits of President Kim Il Sung, the speaker stressed.

The United Confederation of Koreans in the Far Eastern Region of Russia held a memorial event on December 17.

The participants laid a floral basket and bunches of flowers before the portrait of smiling Kim Jong Il and paid a silent tribute to the memory of him in humble reverence.

The chairperson of the United Confederation of Koreans in the Far Eastern Region of Russia said that Kim Jong Il is the greatest man as he proved before the world that the DPRK is alive and socialism is sure to emerge victorious, in the 1990s, a grim period when socialism collapsed in the former Soviet Union and socialist countries in East Europe and the imperialist allied forces went berserk to remove the DPRK from the surface of the earth.

Kim Jong Il is a peerless statesman and outstanding leader whom the world acknowledges and admires, the chairperson added.

The Korean War Veterans' Council of Russia, too, held a memorial meeting on December 11.
