The symposium on the theme of "Scientific management of forest in the area of Samjiyon" was aimed at fixing the topic of symposium to be regularly held in the future, as well as taking proactive measures for putting the management of forests in the area of Samjiyon on a scientific and technological basis of higher level.

Present at the symposium, sponsored by the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea, were officials, scientists and technicians of over 20 units like Kim Il Sung University, Pyongyang University of Agriculture, Kanggye University of Agriculture and Forestry and the State Academy of Sciences.

Suggested at the symposium were many plans for resolving the scientific and technological problems arising in finishing the afforestation in the area of Samjiyon in two or three years. Also discussed there were the ways of doing so.
