Coal Output Goes Up in DPRK
Pyongyang, January 4 (KCNA) -- Workers in the coal industrial sector of the DPRK make a big stride in production from the outset of the new year, out of the strong desire to further strengthen the advanced base for developing the self-supporting economy.

They turned out more coal than planned in the first campaign of this year through a vigorous drive.

The Pukchang Area Youth Coal Mining Complex produced 100-odd more tons of coal than planned on January 1. And the Sunchon Area Youth Coal Mining Complex has produced a large amount of coal from the beginning of the year by securing rich new coal beds and concentrating efforts on coal mining.

Workers at coal mines in the northern area of the country, too, are in a sky-high spirit to implement the Party decisions without fail in this significant year.
