The yearly work for implementing the 5-year plan of development and change set forth at the Party Congress is of very great significance in the light of the development stage of socialist construction and the actual conditions and environment of our Party and state, the article says, and goes on:

This year's do-or-die struggle is a worthwhile one for dynamically accelerating the comprehensive development of socialist construction.

The enormous fighting tasks of this year, including the ones for putting the national economy on the track of upswing, making significant progress in settling the shortage of food, clothing and housing and waging an intensive campaign for a new revolution in construction and the rural revolution can be successfully carried out only when all sectors and units wage a dynamic death-defying struggle.

The do-or-die struggle of this year is an unyielding offensive struggle for accelerating the advancing speed of the revolution by breaking through all obstacles and challenges to our progress.

The economy of the country is still in the difficult condition, and the future subjective and objective conditions and environment of the revolution call upon all the people to immediately turn out in this year's do-or-die struggle towards a fresh victory.

The article says that when the popular masses, with firm confidence and strong will to break through all difficulties by getting single-heartedly united around the Party, turn out, all challenges and difficulties will be overcome and the Korean-style socialism will vigorously advance on its track of development.
